Full StoryHi all
I am in the process of redoing my "postage stamp" back yard [17 x 17.5 feet]. I will have a largish bed that will be about 4 x 10 feet and am excitedly planning for what I should plant there - previously a lawn covered area. My back yard is a full southern exposure with white stucco house and 6 ft fence I actually seem to have a higher zone tolerance than my zone 2 Saskatchewan ranking. Because of my small space I want really awesome plants that give me a "punch". Each plant or group of plants has to earn a place. I am encorporating a beautiful cherry bush that I am training into a small tree, Francis williams hosta, Globe Flower and LUPINS. I also grow veggies - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs - I guess I have a cottage garden crossed with a potager asperation for my yard. Would you recommend a Fernleaf peony as a stand out smaller plant? Thanks for your opinions - also if you have any other thoughts about plants for my space I would love to hear them
