Planted two Washintonas today.

On the western side of my house, there were these two holes in the ground. Back in the day, they were used for in ground garbage cans. In season, I always placed my rubber trees in them so I would't fall in the holes, but out of season, I had to be careful. Anyway, the exposure is protected by house on one side and a small vestibule. I know the holes drain because water never collected in them even withirene when there was 1.5 feet accumulating in the back. Added some humus/manure and petite and sand then mulched. I have 6 of these in 20 gallon tubs so at least these are 2 fewer I have to worry about moving inside. I wll protect in winter. Being that they are in a corner, should be easy to rig something up. One is either filifera or filiibuster, the other looks more robusta. Oh, one the same wall, I have been overwintering unprotected the following--loquats, camellias, aspidistra, kiwi, and Podocarpus. Are Washys more tender than these?
