Is this marble subway tile? What are the countertops made of? thanks

Black Absolute with Carrara Marble. I am doing the white shaker cabinets with the Carrara Marble back splash but I have been steered away from the Absolute because I'm told it is a nightmare for fingerprints, water marks, and streaking. Instead I am going with Virginia Mist from Virginia USA. A very beautiful black with white mist running through. Having a tough time securing the blocks I need because it is a granite in demand.

Christea, I am also considering Virginia Mist instead of Absolute Black for the exact reasons you stated and am also doing white shaker cabinets with marble back splash. Just wondering if you did honed or polished and if you are happy with your decision? Thanks!
