I'm afraid all my strawberries died last year. The birds kept them pecked to the ground! So I got frustrated and stopped watering.Today I bought 6 strawberry plants and a roll of chicken wire. My husband has pledged to help me build a cage, so I'm ready to go. I can't afford to buy many plants this year because I have a lot of projects going on. I wanted to try to start some plants from seed and then add them to fill in the bed. I'll get berries from them next year hopefully. However, I'm having trouble finding seed locally. I live out in Brighton and we don't have many options out here. I am going to the swap. If anyone that's attending has any, I would appreciate some. I know there may be a few plants available at the swap, but I would love to get a good patch going and would like to attempt growing seed.
