Pruning Scotch Bonnet Pepper Plants and Growing in Hydro

jtej

I have four large potted scotch bonnet plants that I've been growing outdoors. All together the plants produced about 60 peppers, the majority of which I've already harvested. Now the temperature here in NY is dropping and I would like to keep the plants alive until next spring. I see that willard3 on this forum prunes his chili plants down and grows them in hydro. Does any one know if this method would work for scotch bonnets? Would the plant still need fertilizer? My goal is to keep them alive until I can take them back outside. Any advice would be much appreciated!
