Some cultivars do get big in the ground. Maybe move yours to a new spot where it has plenty of space and look for a dwarf variegated abelia?

They are still in pots and now in the back of my car to return. Lovely foliage but this morning I saw a grown up abelia in part shade and it was BIG. Then I got your message and then someone stopped as I was in the front yard and told me how they can grow with great branches that look like fountains going everywhere. Whew! Saved from my self and even have the receipt!

I love my abelias .. but the big one is big. Probably 7' tall and 5' wide and blooms and blooms. I have dwarf abelias in another bed, and they stay around 4', but they're not variegated. Someone else posted about that kaleidoscope and it looks sooo pretty. I need to find space for one or five. :)
