I generally think that there are much better plans out there, but sometimes plans like this serve a legitimate purpose.

Your guests have to walk through the children's bedroom wing to get to the living space from the entry (and vice versa) and to get to the powder room from the living room. This seems like a bad idea if you have young children trying to sleep. Also just it just feels weird to arrive at someone's house and be dumped straight into the bedrooms.

I also wouldn't want my small kids to be that close during the night to a door.
