I must say I like your advice :) Were the touch ups extensive? I think I will go ahead & do it your way :)

Touch-up on jambs and facings will only be where the nails are sunk and caulked or minimal scuffing from tools.

You should have very little touch-up to the doors.

Do you take the doors off to paint? Anyone paint them installed? These doors are heavy.

I've painted doors installed before and wouldn't recommend it. Mine were hollow core and I only painted one side, but it's just hard to do and didn't come out as clean looking as I'd hoped. My new doors are solid core and we're laying them on a saw horse to paint. It's pretty easy and goes quickly that way.
