Dish soap/water mix has allways worked well enough that I don't feel the need to make a special trip to buy leak detect liquid if I have non on hand. The most noticable differences are the dish soap creates more small bubbles when agitated by brush and also drips off sooner than leak detect. Most LP suppliers in my area will send somone out to test/inspect it free.

I watched a YouTube video where the plumber took an open flame to the connection to test it.... Seriously?
I suppose if the connection is good, then no problem, but....

I talked with a gas man and he said it is no problem. If there is a leak it is just like a pilot light, small flame, no problem. I've never tried it myself.

Another reason why many plumbers are suspected of chaseing cars and licking themselves in public.

Welp, it's in, converted and seemingly leak free.
I do have a pressure tester, but the bubble test revealed a small lead at the connection at the wall, did decide to put a flame to it and got a small poof. Tightened it down and we were good to go.

May ask the propane company to come and test it just to be safe and avoid leaking dollars!!

I didn't chase any cars, though I may have had low riding pants...
