Do I need to "wax" my new cabinets? What would I use?

you probably don't need to wax your new cabinets, but i have, using paste wax in a can. it is difficult to apply and buff by hand, but that is how i have done it, with the raised panel cabinet doors. it's just another layer of protection...

The catalyzed UV cured finishes of modern quality factory produced cabinetry don't need anything but a slight damp cloth to clean and will not benefit at all by waxing. In fact, waxing may actually dull the finish and create more cleaning problems. If the cabinets are made by a local custom shop that doesn't use as durable a finish like lacquer, then even waxing will not really help to protect them any better in the long run and also can cause problems with dullness and cleanability.
