I'm getting ready to purchase all stainless steel appliances and would like to take care of the following while I'm at it:

-add a backsplash
-update the cabinets with either thicker crown molding or add cabinets on the top
-either move microwave above the stove or hide in cabinets and add a hood
-new light fixtures
-add rustic wood beams and/or white paneling on the ceiling

I know I want to add atleast one beam over the bar area that separates the kitchen from the living room. Rustic Modern is my hope for this kitchen.
