Three small ones, or two medium ones seem about right to me!

I don't think the odd number rule applies to 2 (if that makes sense). I'd say 90% of people do two pendants. Just a couple days ago someone hung three pendants over a 68" wide island and lamented that it may be two many. I'll post the link below.

Thanks guys. mpagmom, I think I saw that thread and it helped me decide that two well-spaced were better than three that seemed crowded.

p.s. I love how the odd-number rule doesn't apply to 2. :) Maybe because 1, 2 and 3 are all prime numbers?

That was my post. My initial reaction was that the 3 pendants were too much - they looked too crowded. But they are growing on me. I did not see them in person before ordering and installing - I had a vision of them being slimmer, so I think perhaps if they were a bit slimmer I would like them better (each pendant is @ 6 1/4"). If you have slim pendants, then I would say to use 3. Otherwise, I would lean more towards just using 2.

Since your island is 8" shorter than heidigo's, I'd only do 2 for sure.
