Dear cat89mice: Are you referring to the wall paneling or the timber ceiling?

Regarding the materials that we provide in our house kits, our clients leave the posts and beams natural if they like the color, stain, or seal it with an oil like Watco (by Rustoleum). The Douglas fir posts and beams will deepen over time. The ceiling decking (cedar, pine or fir) is also treated with stain, oiled, or left alone depending on preference. Since we are not involved in any of the interior finish of the home kits that we supply, I can't say much about a customer's choice of paneling or trim and how he/she would treat it.
