Looks like Carrara Marble Hexagon - if it is marble, then it requires sealing.

The tile is actually the Hampton Carrara 2" Hexagon from Tile Shop. Homeowners are pleased with the product and quality. However, when installing we found that there were some off-colored hexagons that stood out. This could possibly be solved by buying more product to pick and choose which parts you want to install.

Assuming the Home owner is aware there is no issue, if they are not then this is the downside. While the home owner maybe happy, when they come to sell the home they cannot sell it as Italian Carrara. When they put on the features of the home they cannot have a feature that states: "Italian Carrara Bathroom". That is a huge selling plus.

Why?? There is no Carrara Mountain in the Hamptons, not to my knowledge, it is like Turkish Carrara, that is two different continents and this is one of the main reasons we also entered this industry to fix it. To add transparency to call a stick a stick, a duck a duck.

There is Italian Bianco Carrara, 100% Italian Carrara is from the Tuscany Region in Italy.

Italian Marble 100% Carrara Herringbone for $12.75 a Square Foot. This is from the Tuscany region of Italy.

Trims that match the Italian Marble Collection we call what it actually is in Italy "Bianco Carrara".

Our Online Collection of Bianco Carrara, is pictured the top header above. The 1" Hexagon is $11.25 a Square Foot and Free Shipping (as of June 2016).. The entire collection has over 60 different products, that we take from over two million square feet match up, take pictures for approval and then ship.

Our of all the companies online that sell Carrara Bathrooms. The Builder Depot is the only Google Trusted Store. To do that you have to be 100% upfront and have complete transparency.

Having said all of that. The reality is there are various white marbles, from Statuary to Calacatta. Where it really comes from is less relevant that whether you like it or not and it fits your budget.

Assuming you are aware of where it was quarried then what does it matter. What matters is each time you step into your bathroom you are stepping into a 5 star resort bathroom and it brings you joy.

You just have to be careful when selling the home. I know Italy is going to engage a lot of businesses soon and identify those that export and those that do not. They plan to protect their natural resource.
