Call them and offer to purchase the scion wood from them. It's completely legal to do so with Honeycrisp and I'm sure they will be aware of that.
It will be cheaper, fresher and save the shipping charges which are normally as much as the wood itself.

If not speedster...I'll have to look at what pruning I'm going to do and how much wood I'll have (I've promised some already). If I have enough I'll send you some. I take a look and let you know.

I've been wondering about the disease importation risk with scion trading. We don't get much disease here. A lot of people have at least one or two apple/pear trees on their property. Yet, in 35 years I've never seen a case of fire blight. Once in while there might be a trivial blight that only last one season. I'd hate to be the one to ruin that.

Yeah...it's something to be considered. People shouldn't trade scions from trees known to be diseased though. I realize that they could still be infected however.

Just because you haven't seen any fireblight that doesn't mean there has never been any pressure though. It would be hard to fathom there never having been Erwinia Amylovora bacterium there. It just so happened nothing was infected, or if it was, you just didn't see it. Could be that unfavorable conditions have existed or the trees just happened to be resistant.

I think the disease pressure is everywhere...whether it manifests itself or not. Obviously though it wouldn't be a good idea to introduce it, but how many purchased trees or ornamentals or whatever are certified? I'd say virtually none and you know that is going on all the time.
