Painted ladies have an incredibly large range of host plants that they use. I, unfortunately, never see them. I would not be surprised if they used hibiscus since it belongs to the mallow family. However, painted ladies like most butterflies with various host plants differ in what they use regionally. They may use thistles in one county and yarrow 5 mins down the road. I would experiment with a variety of various host plants Painted ladies are said to use. You could try planting an assortment of different types of mallows, such as, Malva sylvestri, Lavatera arborea, Alcea rosea, etc. Good luck!

Thats the thing! I have cheeseweed looking plants outside in my front yard in pots. except the flowers are a lot closer to the plant. The plant itself doesnt get tall at all. And the flowers are extreme vibrant in color. Thank you so much for your help!
