Yes it would be nice to know which cultivar number at SFASU this corresponds to.

Actually I was just looking at their website, but I may request a print catalog now.

It also seems they've gotten rid of the Abies grafted onto firma rootstock. Also no Pseudotsuga wilsoniana or sinensis this year.

The hybrid is T502

I have it (T502) for the past couple years. Rather fast grower. Better form than Nanjing Beauty. I wonder about the other hybrids like 405, 406, 407... My 407 is a beast!

Almost Eden Nursery from Louisiana is supposed to sell 'Banita' as well. Not yet listed on the website as of today though.

I have T407. I got it last year at the spring plant sale at SFASU. We had a coldish winter in Dallas, and bald cypresses don’t have evident buds when dormant, so I was a little worried about it, but it leafed out fine and it has grown very vigorously this year, despite less-than-ideal weather (cold, with no frost, but several nights with lows in the 30’s during April, and very hot, dry weather since early May). I write this in early July, 2018. One thing I did notice was that it had a few bagworms of the sort that overwinter on Juniperus virginiana.

So far T502 has been a better grower for me, for whatever reason, than T406. All the same it is beginning to annoy me with its unwillingness to form a consistent leader. I will post a picture later.
