Can't help you, but i don't know if this is the right place to look. They changed the format here recently and this is the first post besides the negative posts that persist. It seems as if many have boycotted and many more didn't register as there has been no activity since. I suggest trying one of the many other boards, many of which contain posters from your area.

If it's going to cost money I wouldn't risk it. Below ground parts of plants are normally protected from cold weather spikes, the earth is a good insulator. If the fronds got fried by the cold then so would have the root system. I'd say there's a poor chance of survival.

It still has several green frowns though. Just the new tender growth got burned.

It's my experience that old fronds can still maintain some colour after the palm is dead. One of the best examples I've seen was where lightning struck a group of 6 coconuts. Over the next couple of months the fronds kept falling and they were still green. I've seen other situations where trunks have died but some of the fronds were still green. That's why I'd say, if it involves expense it's not worth it. If you can do it yourself without expense then give it a try but don't expect too much.

Yes I am aware the frowns stay green awhile. Guess I better pass on it and if it's still sitting around in spring and looks alive then will mess with it. Palms are usually shot when top frowns/spears are fried. I have noticed some grow back. Thanks.
