Couch fabric

Anyone want to chime in on the couch fabric? The wall is called BM ozark shadow. Carpet is a beige color. Trying to decide between these three colors.

The first is called pumice which looks light. The second is a medium brown and the third is a dark gray.

I'd go with the darkest one as the other two look like they could clash with the wall and carpet in certain light at certain times of the day.

I also like the brown one.

Yes, it's between Kangaroo and Raven. Raven definitely looks to be less likely to clash with the carpet......it may just make the space feel darker combined with the darker walls. Definitely bring in some white and cream accents to lighten up the room and for contrast if you choose Raven. Anyway jmo.

Avery that is my exact problem. Ultimately I think I like the Raven the best, but I am afraid it will make the room too dark. I was originally thinking the Pumice would be best until I brought the swatches home. I definitely don't like it with the carpet color. I am not in love with the kangaroo either. Decisions, decisions.

I'm leaning towards the charcoal with your wall colour. Can we see a picture of your room?

So here are a few pictures of the room. This is our sitting room which is right off the master bedroom. Plus a walk through to the bathroom. The TV stand will stay and the new couch will go where the existing couch is now.

A few more of the room and the couch in the raven fabric.

I'm very surprised at the last pic. The raven sample looks a lot darker than the sofa in raven. The fabric looks very nearly black and the sofa in the last pic looks medium gray/green on my computer.

Your samples have a tiny herringbone pattern. I'm not seeing that on the sofa above and I agree with Ann about the color discrepancy. Those don't even look like the same fabric type. If that picture is truly the raven fabric would the store let you take a cushion home to try in the room?

Yes the photo of the sofa is the raven color. I am sure the lighting in the store has a lot to do with the sofa appearing to be lighter. I agree the sample looked much darker in my room than it does in the store.

Wow, they look so different. I like the idea of borrowing a cushion from the store, if at all possible. The color of the sofa in the store looks to be quite close to your wall color, which might be good or bad (if the colors are too close but slightly off and clash).

Hmmm. Choose a couch you love and repaint the room.

The raven in the sample looks almost black and the photo of couch gray microfiber. Are they the same fabric? Given the new picture raven seems ok. I would still choose the kangaroo for a little contrast but both will go I think!

I like raven the best for your room. Do you have your heart set on a sofa? A pair of armchairs would look great in front of that window.

I agree I like the raven best. I think it gives a good contrast.

Wickedwhite I am open to other ideas. Did you have something in mind? We want a place we can relax without the kids. Comfort is key. Plus we don't want to spend a ton of money since we will be the only one seeing it.

Are you going to spend a lot of time watching TV in this area? If it's just a half hour or so before bed, I think armchairs are a better option here. They're more versatile. If you add a small table and a lamp, they can make a cozy reading area... Or a spot to simply unwind after a long day. I can't find the best examples, but here are a few.

So much for that! Go to the stories tab. Type "bedroom sitting areas." You'll find a few ideabooks.

Thanks wickedwhite. I will see what hubby wants to do. And yes we typically spend about an hour in there before bed, watching TV or catching up on Houzz ;-)

Here's an example of a sitting area off a bedroom. Seems a little more fitting than a sofa.
