I am renovating a traditional U shaped kitchen with a central island in a nyc apartment. The refrigerator and freezer must be positioned on a side wall 1 foot beyond the front edge of the island. Thus, I will always access the refrigerator and freezer from the right.

I am thinking of using a 30" Sub Zero integrated column hinged on the left and an 18" Sub Zero integrated column hinged on the left. In this way, both doors will open out toward the island and work zone. Please comment on my plan.
