Thanks for that link, I am familiar with it. I have used those methods on our own property with good results, but the issue I'm facing now is the spread of rhizomes from adjoining lots, which then generate new plants. Those property owners are not interested in control measures. I began yesterday digging a trench around the perimeter of our backyard to intercept the invading rhizomes. I'll be using the bamboo root barrier. Once I've isolated the lawn, I'll have to dig it up to remove the bittersweet roots already there. This year we have had drought conditions here, so the lawn is largely dead (not dormant) anyway.
