Hi there, you definitely want to seal your marble with an impregnating or penetrating sealer, and do so at least once a year. Never use harsh chemicals with a high PH in them. It is best to use warm distilled water with a soft cloth. Marble can stain if the spill is not cleaned up quickly, even water spots can occur if not wiped up. Marble is quite beautiful if maintained, however if the upkeep is something you are not looking for, Ceaserstone makes a beautiful engineered stone called Calcutta Nuvo which looks very much like marble.
