Celebrate your Liberty this weekend!

Ok, so that's a little corny. Well, anyway, show me your Liberties! Mine are babies, but this cute little one almost looks like fireworks, doesn't it? (We had some hot days and it got just a bit scorched.)

Bought in 2009 at Hallsons. When do you think it will look like Liberty? Do I need to move it to more light? I see all of your beautiful ones and am so disappointed in mine.

Are you sure this is a Liberty? The leaf shape is different from all the others pictured.

Was until just now. I bought it at Hallson's so never questioned what it was!

Michigangaardener, whether your hosta is a Liberty or not, I would think that any hosta that was purchased in 2009 should be much larger by now. Is there root competition in this area? Is it a wet area that is promoting root rot? You may have to dig it up to inspect the roots.

My Liberty was purchased in 2012 with three eyes. It has grown slowly through the years and finally had a leap year.

newhostalady, I LOOOVE your pictures, especially the one that makes the hosta look like a forest! How cool is that!!!!

Different perspectives with hosta nearly always are nice perspectives. The veins are wonderfully captured in this pic.

I also do this kind of pictures for my documentation. Simply holding the camera under the plant with the lens up or in an angle I got the most surprising pics, especially when the sun is falling on the plant...Nice for those with red stems, look like little enchanted forests or like a great hall with columns. Find out yourselves;-)

Liberty is definitely on my wishlist!

Thanks littlebug and Karin. I love hostas from any angle! Just thought I would share and wondered if anyone else liked to see a different view. Give it a try yourself as Karin suggests. Looking forward to seeing some of your photos Karin.

Freeze-damaged this spring, but still sparkling for Independence Day.

i haven't posted in a while, but I love Liberty. One of the first I bought. The white edges burn out in our heat, but that spring show is breathtaking.

"My head is bloody, but unbowed"

Hail, pine limbs, neglectful owner, heavy shade, whiskey barrel, animal impacts, Liberty reigns in spite of it all!
