I think because your flooring has a lot of variation, I would choose a backsplash that is monochromatic. BTW - I find it warm, not drab ;)

Yes, the backsplash is too much with the floor - I think they will compete too much. I definitely agree with colorado in sticking with monochromatic - probably something light grey?

I don't know your price range. Given your floor, which I think is lovely and a bit rustic feeling, I'm wondering what you think of. Fireclay 's thin brick tile? It comes in more colors than this. It is pricey though.

I have seen them installed at Fireclay and they are even better in person, IMO. Something about the texture doesn't fully come across on a screen.

I personally find the large lights over the small island and the small lights over the large table to be distracting. Even if you did nothing more than just switch them I think you would be better off. I definitely like your lighting choice but I don't think it matches this room.
