Fix for mirror/wall gap?

Mike

Hi guys,

I just had a full wall mirror installed in a 5 foot long niche. Due to the walls and ceiling being uneven, there are gaps of up to 1/4" between the wall and the edge of the mirror in certain areas.

It's not a big deal, but is there an easy way to reduce or eliminate these gaps? Drywall compound? I could also use caulking that doesn't contain silicone (which could damage the silvering). Or maybe there's some kind of rope putty I can wedge into the gap? I don't want to frame the mirror, but a small, 1/4" molding would probably work.

Thanks!
