Great photos. Only thing I have blooming right now is Mammillaria plumosa and the flowers are small. Also a few Tillandsia. Will share more in the coming months.

Those of you in California, it's like cheating LOL

Wow - I almost missed this! My Sedum burrito (I think) is blooming for the first time. I say 'I think', because I had this labeled as S. morganianum, but now I think differently.

The flowers were literally on the ground. I had gone out to prune and propagate and found the little blooms! There are several stems blooming.

Awesome, Crenda! I've never seen those bloom.

    Crenda

I am not sure (without checking :) but think Sedum morganianum 'Burrito' is correct, with burro's tail or burrito being common names...have to check it out!

EDIT: according to this write-up I am wrong! (not the 1st time, lol). So I have a donkey tail S. morganianum because it looses leaves easily, which S. burrito is not as prone to do...

Like to see it blooming. How old is your plant? I have one for a while but it never bloomed - maybe it is the warm climate...

Tehya - Here is what a dried up seed capsule looks like on my Titanopsis hugo-schlecteri.

And since I don't think I can get away with any more non-flowering succulents...

    Haworthia mirabilis

    Aloe descongii

    Gasteria pillansii

Titanopsis calcarea - More blooms. =)

Crassula 'Morgan's Beauty' - First of many blooms!

    Ewwmayo,

Are titanopsis(es?) self fertile? I just realized that before reading about lots of self sterile succulents I pollinated the two flowers with each other.

  • ewwmayo

Tehya - Sorry, I do not believe they are self fertile. You can try, but I have my doubts.

You can cross pollinate between species and some other Mesembs and potentially try to get some interesting results though.

Haven't had much to post... Today this opened. I've posted pics of this over the past few years. I have 5 of them and I can't seem to get any two to flower at the same time for seed. I brought them back from London, UK.

    Lophophora williamsii

It's been raining so much I haven't gone out to photograph flowers, and some of them have gotten knocked down by the rain. Here are photos from this morning:

Aeonium flowers always get knocked over.
    Aloe with raindrops.
Kalanchoe, with damaged aloe in front of it.
Not sure what this is, perhaps Pachyveria.
Neglected Kalanchoe. I had this in a pot in the back yard before, and it grew better but had unattractive stems and leaves, at least for the pot. I need to get rid of the oxalyx in the yard, but it generally dies back after the rain is over.
Wide view of aloe. I have others with buds that have not yet opened.

All of your plants are great looking. A. variegata doesn't look like it needed SOS :) Even the blooms stalks are so thick. May I ask what is that 'pink thing' in it's pot that I noticed in few of your photos?

EDT: it does look like lighter for size comparison as mentioned below - just wanted to make sure...

  • 0nametaken0

    Kalanchoe daigremontiana:

  • ConnyNL (The Netherlands, 8b)

    Thanks Rina.

It was in dire need of a rescue though.... it was the only one they had, and had been overwatered. When we picked it up it was already wobbly, and by the time we got home it broke. Luckily the top part broke off WITH lots of roots, so I repotted.

When I dug out the bottom part I found 7 developing white pups in various sizes, with plenty of roots, so I potted those in one big pot and covered them again. We'll see how it goes.

And yes: I use the lighter in my pictures when I want to show off the size of the plant :-)

    A. variegata pups will soon become very nice plants in your care. My plant is not as nice as yours, and it had already 5 pups. I am amazed at so many flower stalks on yours...I would have grabbed it too :)...but I think I would grab any of the plants you show!
