Curtain rod placement and curtain

Good morning! The previous homeowners hung their curtain rods longer on one side of the windows. Should I take them down and center them? The only pictures I've seen online for this has been with a bed in the center, but a bed can't fit between these windows.

If I keep them as they are, what style of curtain works best for this rod placement?

Looks like they must have had 1 panel hung on the outer side of each window & nothing between the windows. That is an attempt to treat the 2 windows as 1. If you center the rods you would hang a panel on each side of the window & you wouldn't see any of the wall between the windows. You already have blinds so you could just do a faux roman shade hung just above each window.

I've been searching for a fabric that would work well in this room. I've found a few bit nothing I love. Fast forward to an early Saturday morning after the time change and WOW there's a lot of light in here!

thank you! just realized that only half my post posted. wondering if there is a style that I can use (my drapery terminology is null) that would allow me to pull them back during the day, perhaps to one side, but then still have the usability of dark out? I've found some I like, but not sure if I can use them with the rods uneven...?

You could center the rods over the windows & hang panels with grommets, they slide closed easily

I am guessing that the owner had store bought curtains that came in a certain length and they put one on each far side of the window. Typically, I would have installed the rod 1/2 way between the window and ceiling moldings. You could keep with the one panel look and put a mirror or art on the wall in-between the windows. If you do the art or mirror you would want them to occupy a space of about 20"-24" wide by 48" long.

It is really personal preference but I would remove and redo. I prefer symmetrical.
