Trouble choosing finishes for bathroom fixtures

Hi all - I'm attempting to upgrade my bathroom, but being that this is my first time working on something like this, I'm having a bit of trouble. So far, I have a vanity/sink combo purchased (http://www.maykke.com/vanities/19-fawn-vanity-set-with-marion-ceramic-sinktop.html) and think that I'll be going with a honed hexagon marble tile (2") for the floor.

I don't want anything too modern for the faucet and sconces, so I've been looking at transitional fixtures. I have a very small bathroom, so, the faucet can't be tall (the vanity/sink is kinda tall) and the (single) sconces have to be less than 8" high and 6" wide. The faucet I'm considering is: https://www.houzz.com/products/kohler-k-10579-4p-bancroft-1-hole-bathroom-faucet-w-metal-pop-up-drain-assembly-prvw-vr~45372554 and the sconces: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/mercer-single-sconce/?pkey=cbath-sconces&cm_src=Quickbuy. If they were in the budget, I'd get Kohler sconces, but since the faucet is so much, I have to cut back somewhere.

I'm not terribly fond of brushed nickel finishes because I find them to be too generic (it's what I have now). Would polished nickel be too flashy with my other components? Is it really a huge pain in the butt to keep that finish from tarnishing? The Kohler polished nickel finishes have the PVD coating, but I'm not sure about the Pottery Barn sconces. I should note that the brushed nickel sconces I currently have are rusty in spots - if that gives any indication about the moisture level in my bathroom and/or the quality of the sconces (they were there when I moved in).

Basically, I'm looking for quality without breaking the bank and I'd like things to coordinate as much as possible, while keeping scale small. I really have no idea what looks good!
Sorry for the long post. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
