Keep it in full Sun in a shallow water tray. It will need 3-4 months of dormancy come fall/winter. It's no different than any other Sarracenia, it's just a new hybrid is all.

I have one that I've had over a year. I don't think you can over water them, but they don't need as much in winter. Collect rain water for it and give it full sun. Sun is important, it is not a woodland plant. I don't buy water for plants. If I run out of rain water, I give them tap water and my carnivorous plants haven't seemed to mind. That said, I usually have rain water for them. Just place a bucket somewhere water runs off your house.

I ended up planting in pure long fiber moss and setting it out in a water dish in full sun. It's been rained on and I've collected enough water for now. It's turned deep red and seems to like its new lot in life. Next adventure will be overwintering, but for now I'm just happy I didn't kill it. Really neat plant.

The tap water issue is related to how much TDS is in your water. You may have safe enough water for the plant. The plant may tolerate more than average. Or it may just take a while for the plant to show the effects of bad tap water. (Eg it doesn't die right away just because you gave it some tap water).

This is why you might find different answers to the tap water issue, including a few threads here at this site.

So basically, the best choice is rain water/ RO water/ distilled water. But if you are one of the lucky ones with good tap water, or a plant that tolerates your tap water and keeps on living and thriving, then that's good.

As far as how much dry or wet the soil needs to be, I've not tested it myself with any kind of design in place, but I have had the media very dry (on top) as well as very wet for days at a time, and the Saracennia plants have been OK.
