There are tons of French Country books out there and thousands of photos on the internet. However, a lot of them are reinterpretations, and stray pretty far from the original designs. Country French interiors were mixes of dressy and casual. What we think of today as Country French really developed over a number of years. A farm house might have been renovated and added to along with larger windows and updated furnishings. So you have to consider which period of time their interiors appeal to you the most. No one wants to live in a museum any more so you don't have to just use formal or all casual. But what I fell in love with is the clever mix of simple pieces with spectacular ones the French do so well. They were not afraid to express themselves and know how to smell the roses. Have fun. Leo
