Modern stair railing - help!

We are building a house and we need to choose our stair railing. You see the railing when you first walk in and we want transitional to modern home. Attached is where the stairs will go.
We have a 2.5 and 4.5 year old.
What option would you choose:
1. Glass - The glass would achieve the look, but my 2.5 year old has nothing to hold on to when going upstairs. She will put her hands all over the glass and it is awkward for her.
2. 2x6 with no posts
3. Square posts with 2x4 hand rail or 2x6 rail - which one is better?
For #2 and 3, what spindles should we use? Square stainless are an upgrade. We have a chrome ribbon ball going in the area. How do you make spindles modern as they can be. Do you keep it the same spindle or put another one in?

It appears that all of Canada can not agree on what the definition of "graspable" should be. Some areas have no explanation, but here is one of some value.
If the "HANDrail" is a 2×4 or 2×6, you should look at designs to make it more graspable.

6 years agoI think this is a nice look. The wood keeps it warm and a bit transitional but the stainless spindles are very modern.
