I have recently looked at flooring and it seems that the flooring in the picture may have the marks as part of the design. Not all engineered flooring has the marks as pictured. You may consider checking with the seller to ensure that the marks are part of the design before installation.

Reason asking: these marks are definitely part of the design, mimicking “saw marks” and should have been on samples viewed as well. You will have them all over the floor and it’s not damage from something someone did to the floor, it’s how they are.

I’m not sure what kind of recourse you have if you don’t like this design, but better speak up/ask now before the whole floor as been installed.

They're called chatter marks to mimic the look of saw blade marks. Yes, most engineered handscraped finishes have this marking on their products. 100% normal.

Unless it's only on a few pieces I'd say it's part of the design. I imagine these are visible from a standing position but it needs to be noted that flooring appearance is judged from a standing position.
