Love what you did to this house. What material did you use for the vertical and horizontal posts?

Thanks for compliment. The wood for porch structure is Douglas Fir. Posts are 6 x 6, beams above posts are 8 x 6 (flat), and pergola beams are 6 x 4 (flat). We used kerf plate steel connectors to avoid visible hardware. They are bolted through posts top and bottom, and pegged. Tops of exposed beams have sheet metal caps.

My mom has the same type of home. Wooden interiors, craftsman exteriors. You inspired her to paint! Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

You betcha. Inspiring others is the architect's favorite job. Have her check out some of our ideabooks.

I have been looking for clinker brick but it seems hard to find. Noticed the great use of brick here. Can you suggest a brick vendor/manufacturer for clinker?

Clinker brick is all salvage, and difficult to find. For this project we used Coronado Stone clinker brick veneer in "brown blend."
