What do you mean by 'gutting it', since that might imply you're intending to make wholesale changes possibly including structural changes. If instead you intend to update or renovate within the existing structure, think through your style preferences and more modest modifications you can make. Do you intend to move any interior walls? Are you going to move lighting/plumbing/ heating locations or utilize existing placements? etc.

For your specific Entry I would suggest a door change from solid to glass (or partial glass) to provide more daylight. You might consider a 3/4 height wall (instead of the iron rail) to make the basement stairs less significant to the Entry. When you do get close to light fixture choices given the existing locations and your desire for iron, look to Hubbardton Forge or Restoration Hardware for inspiration (as just two of the many companies that offer lighting with iron elements). Your style preferences may guide you to others.
