This space is pretty difficult to work with. I only had time today to put together one suggested layout. The rounded corner on the sectional eases the eye into the room when coming from the kitchen. There is 3' behind the sofa for ease of access between the kitchen and entry. Wall mounted bookcases and a console under the window near the kitchen fill in the space and can function for storage as well. A little reading knook under the large window at the entry is a nice introduction to the home as you enter.

Only 17,000 wow.

We had a very similar living room - long and narrow, 13’ by 27’. It had two narrow openings - we closed them in and made one much wider cased opening to the entrance hall. It made an enormous difference. Suddenly the room felt and lived 4’ or 5’ wider, and the adjoining room (entry hall) also felt bigger as well. I cannot tell what room adjoins your living room, but if you are making changes, that is one idea to consider.

A sectional will overwhelm the room, plus it gives you very little flexibility.
A sofa will seat three people. If you normally have a gathering of six people, you need enough seats for all of them, even if you are in the kitchen half of the time.
Consider two sofas in a slender, sleek style, plus two chairs which coordinate. Avoid big rolled-arm, overstuffed, loose-pillow sofas because they take up excess room without seating more people.
