If they are purely cosmetic, remove them. IMO.

The vents are not functional. I like the gas lantern where it is. It sounds like I should remove the vent above the lantern and leave the one on the left gable. What do yall think?

My own, personal, untrained opinion is that anything fake (vents, windows, dormer windows) is better left out. I like houses to be authentic. Therefore I would leave them both out.

I agree with the last comment. I f the vents are purely cosementic I would leave them out on both sides. I do however like the light.

Agree to eliminate the vents. I don't think I've seen a light up above Windows like that and it strikes me as odd.

I kept the vents and eliminated the lantern.
