Please provide links to each sink. None of us have the configurations memorized.

oh! I've looked at those specs a dozen times and didn't notice that. thanks! we are considering it for a laundry sink, so i'll have to see if smaller stoppers exist.

The 12727 has deck holes that are a 4" apart which means only a very small faucet mounting possibility. The 12700 has an 8" spread (more normal). The 12700 has a 3-5/8" drain; the 12787 has a 2-1/4" drain.

The 12787 is designed to be installed on brackets and only comes in white.

Installed they will not look exactly the same due to the faucet restrictions and mounting styles. If you plan to mount the utility sink on a cabinet vs brackets I would call Kohler and ask if that's possible. The notes specify installation instructions.

Those 4" spaced faucets holes might also be smaller for laundry faucets, which I've found have a smaller stem than regular kitchen faucets. I too have been looking at laundry sinks and have settled on a stainless steel legged model, but the holes for it are tiny. My plumber says he can cut the hole larger (or hopefully a new one right in the center and I could use the other 2 holes for soap dispensers).

I would bet the difference in price is because of production volume. The service sink version has probably existed for some time and then they made a version with a Kitchen-sized drain--

The smaller sized drain should be adequate for a laundry sink.

Did you figure out if its 4" or 8"?

I go by the spec sheet but definitely call as those can be wrong on any website occasionally.

Think the difference is that the less expensive sink cannot be plugged up, so if you want to soak in the laundry tub, you would not be able to do so. Not sure if that can be rectified by a plumber or not.

Kate, depends on what kind of drain assembly you chose. Fixed strainer, basket strainer, old school rubber stopper, pop-up drain are all possible.
