Rubio is a hardWAX oil since it has some wax in it. It can certainly be a little slippery when compared to a regular oil finish or to a urethane finish. If your dogs have a lot of hair between their toes, trim it. It can be very slippery.

We're probably putting either Osmo or Odie's on a newly-installed unfinished birch floor next week. Am I right in supposing that both of those might be slightly slippery for the dogs also?

I've read good things about both of those but have only used Rubio, WOCA and Berger Seidle. If they're a hardwax oil they will be a bit slick.
