Codling Moths in my small backyard

I caught a lot of codling moths 48 in 11 days. Is that a lot, is my small backyard in a very serious danger? I have two pear trees: Anjou pear and Bartlett pear. I hanged 2 home made traps (bottle) with some home made mixtures in it. During the day I catch just flies, during the night I catch codling moths. I do not know do I catch males or females and usually I catch about 4 to 5 moths per night.

How many more do I have .

I hope somebody will understand my poor english? Thank you all.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell how many more -- it seems like your area has a lot. If your pears don't show any evidence of damage yet, you can try bagging them (buy cheap sandwich bags, cut off a lower corner so moisture can escape, then fasten one bag over each pear -- close the bag right up to the stem).

There are insecticides that can be used also but I don't know if it is the wrong time to try those (it is too late in my area). Hopefully one of the more expert fruit growers will answer.
