Trim/molding/baseboards

We are in the middle of a gut remodel and I'm trying to get a feel for trim. We have 8ft ceilings throughout the entire house. I am interesting in the farmhouse style molding/trimming. Does anyone know the size range of baseboard, crown molding, and door/window trim, that I should be looking at? Any help and suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

Get white poster board and cut strips the size you are considering. Tape it to the wall and window. Walk in and out of the room several times and see if it looks proportional to you. I call this my “ walking around with a cup of coffee” design tip!

This is an example of what I'm after, but I'm pretty sure those ceilings are taller than 8ft. So I'm basically wondering if something like this will work with 8ft ceilings? Will I need to scale it down a bit? Or should I just give up this train of thought and change directions?

That is far too overscale and overblown for 96”. The original trim was likely the correct scale to use in the home. Don’t do a remuddle.

That crown molding is not farmhouse. Do you actually want farmhouse?

This picture is basically a guide, not exactly what I am after, but I do need to know size recommendations for the different areas of molding for an 8ft ceiling.
