The large spine in the center of each cluster of spines suggests saguaro. ✔ ✔

Spines are unequal in length, with one prominent central spine per areole that is distinctly pointed downward - a useful identification key.

Nice looking plant, Stefan. Mine isn't as green as yours. I assume this is because it gets more sun than it really likes, but I don't want to move it. It is about 15 years old and I have never noticed those long spines pointing down. Had to go out and look, and yep they are pointing down.

socks, the plant is a recent purchase that i havent been able to conclusively id.I thought it could be saguaro, or echinocereus or something similar so i bought it. I have owned a cardoon(baja saguaro)-pachycereus pringleii, but it was much easier to id. The plant has been one of the better performing ones, surviving about 5 years in cultivation , and growing about 2 inches...
