I am going to guess not much under 50 bucket..They are used to grow in, reflect light in, and provide light in them.

Congrats to your "new born" Steve! How many did you plant?

I actually did some FD cuttings 2.5 months ago from an 18" long shoot that came from my Kishu rootstock, and they are still outside. I have left them alone completely other than occasionally lifting the cover (no tugging on them). But I want to finally do a "check" to see what, if anything, took since I will need to bring them in now that the temps have taken a dive. So far, 3 of the 4 pieces still had green leaves, but the portion taken from the very top of the cut piece that had the newest growth, expectantly died pretty early on. At least that sortof gave me an idea of "dead" vs "alive". I do know that sometimes with cuttings, they may "look fine" after several months but they actually never rooted.

NOTHING is easy about growing citrus trees. NOTHING!!!

Not easy growing them indoors, in containers, without adequate light, not to mention the pests. Time of frustrations has arrived for me, some of my trees have scale, despite spraying diligently before they came in.

My tree,s are on cruise control, continue to grow. My kumquat is still outside, too big to bring inside, it will be much smaller before I bring it in.

I will prune it halfway, again in late January, than graft it with two varieties, probably with a Meyer and a Santa Teresa.

Love the idea of using the generated heat to grow other things!
