Exterior Column style: slightly tapered or straight??

Help! I am at the stage of letting our builder know if I want the white columns above the stone pedestals to be straight or slightly tapered.

Opinions please! Need to make a decision ASAP.

All along I was thinking straight in the image with the red circle, which is next to or original architect’s rendering, but now second guessing?

Beautiful home!

While either column will work well with the style of your home, a straight column offers a little more versatility in coordinating with other architectural elements and finishes. A straight column also lends itself to a more timeless design.

Thank you for your response! The “gut check” is a real thing. Obviously we only want to do this porch addition and exterior remodel 1x.

These are the lights I am considering. Thumbs up or down? Porch ceiling has 4 cans + decorative hanging as seen in picture.

And holding the smaller, store display version up at garage side. This one is 16”, the one I would be getting is 20.25” tall.
