Where does one find the untreated steel used for the roof?

My roofer says the materials he can get are treated to not rust.

your roofer will need to seek out another supplier that sells the untreated variety. it's also possible that since 2007, when this project was constructed, some manufacturers may have stopped supplying the untreated variety for liability reasons. also, for the record: rusted roofs look great, but they can cause staining if eaves are not properly guttered, so it's not uncommon for roofers to discourage owners from using this material.
