ceiling fan and low ceiling

We’ll be putting in a covered patio which will end up being fairly low, approximately 7’10”. Would I be able to fit a ceiling fan? If so, what size and height would work without getting my head chopped off?

You google:

"Ceiling hugger OUTDOOR FANS." Nobody knows the size of your patio

And place it over a cocktail table, so you don't feel the "low" aspect of any fan as you then won't walk beneath it.

That would be to low if people are under it. Anyone putting their arms up would get hit by the blades. I'm 6'3" and do it all the time, changing my shirt, break dancing, etc..on fans with 8 ' roofs...Jan would be okay...

If you need air circulation, don't get a regular ceiling fan on that low ceiling. Get one with the blades enclosed in a wire frame. Just search for ceiling fan enclosed.

I would consider mounting an oscillating wall fan instead of a ceiling fan.
