I would take down the heavy bushes, add less boxy landscaping, remove or paint the shutters, add accent color on the door and do something about the driveway--at least edge it so it is even. It needs something in front to dress up the entry and to unify the walkway--I would consider a curved patio of simple pavers or plain concrete with a bench or some built in ledges and raised beds.

Something to make the side yard more appealing would be nice--maybe a stepping stone path and an ornamental tree or shrubbery or easy plants, like hostas, daylilies and iris, maybe with some daisies and coreopsis or Black-eye Susan--all practically maintenance free except for a mowing in the fall and some weeding and mulching in the spring..

Changing the roof pitch is very expensive and I think it looks fine as is. Play up the mid-century modern roots. Add a Crestview door in a snappy color, maybe some mod screening to define the entry, or low walls.

Accent color, perhaps to match the door, can be a nice touch on the fascia along the eaves.

Your roof pitch is fairly shallow but if you're going to keep the tile on the roof then a flatter would looks better with tile. Remember that if you're going to go with shingles (which you didn't say) flatter roofs are bad on shingle durability. Rain on flat roof shingles will reduce the life of the shingles. Water will sheds much slower. A higher pitch is better on resale and home value. I've attached a pic concerning the roof pitch difference between 8:12 & 4:12. One with tile the other with architectural shingles. Notice the difference. *:12 is a possible upgrage. Which is one of many.... victorian.. included a bunch of good ones as well. If you notice the roof water streaks in the pics by victorianbungalowranch it is because of the flatter roof. This means roof shingle change every 15 years. I've included a blog on home resale/value.
