I bought this as Sagae among a big group of Sagae as it had slightly wider margins at the time. It grew into this by its second year here:

I'm not sure what to call it. I suppose its a lot like Liberty, but its so much taller and faster growing than my Liberty even though its in more shade. Here it is in September:

So funny Paula, those pigeons are hilarious!

Wow, I see why these are in the best of!

Choo Choo Train because it has been slow and is finally starting to show it's potential.

Emerald Ruff Cut speaks for itself even when it has been eaten by deer.

Gemstone in my opinion is one of the greatest small ones released in years. Curly Fries is no slouch either and I like them together.

    Powder Blue always looks good.

Regal Splendor is big and beautiful - so big I have to stand back to get a pic. Well over 6' across.

Smash Hit looks good from the time it emerges and holds into fall. A tremendous plant.

    Teaspoon is simply terrific.

Winter Snow just makes me happy in every way!

I feel badly leaving so many out.

While neither of my "best" are outstanding for their cultivar, they make my best because I've been wanting the EU for ages and been waiting for Sagae to come into its own. I think they both will do well the next few years.

Nicholsworth,I know you have many trees and shade, but often your hostas look as if they are in sun. Are they?

Love everyone’s bests! Not sure mine will measure up...

I love the color here. This year ADG changed colors in new ways due to the loss of the big tree limb that shaded it.

I have two of these RFs in my front bed on either side of my Paradise Joyce. I love how good it looks all season.

My Blue Angel, which seems to stay more green due to the deep shade it is in, just looks great all summer. It is about 4-5 feet wide. I love the flower heads with their star shape as they come up on the brachs.

    A couple more

I love this hosta! It looks good all summer. I just adore the leaf streaks and colors!

This pops the color up in the bed. Love that.

I was surprised at how well this held its color and how hardy it was. No cutworm or slug damage! Yay!

    Three more

I love this hosta because in my garden it always looks perfect!

Avocado just is beautiful all summer!

What can I say? I love yellow hostas! I do need to fill out this bed with some some other sun tolerant hostas.

Irish Luck - took a big jump and looked good all summer long.

Sum and Substance - fits right in with my perennials

Night Before Christmas - once I found its happy place it looks good all season.

Pineapple Upsidedown Cake - looks amazing for most of the season (late summer starts looking a little ratty)

Wheee! - just makes me happy

djacobz..the Fire Island pics were taken before the trees leafed out..it's a brief period where it seems sunny..but in reality most of the growing season it's pretty shady..peren gets so many blooms on everything..when I see her pics I'm always thinking "it looks so sunny"..when I leave my neighborhood everywhere else is so bright!..

    More beauties!

I could add many more but ...

montana Aureomarginata is a classic of great beauty and stature. I can't believe I omitted it. A top favorite of many for good reason!
