Help with bungalow master bedroom - Window off center behind bed

Help! Our master bedroom is in our long narrow attic. This is the only wall we can have our bed on, but there is an oddly placed window behind the bed that spans the entire length of the drapes in this photo and butts right up to the wall on the right (which is about 2 feet off frame - there is a 2x3 nook in that corner that we don't know what to do with, so it's just empty right now). I do want to keep drapes of some sort for the blackout feature. I cannot run them the entire width of the bed because of the slope in the ceiling. I had hoped the mirror would help balance it out, but I don't think it works visually. I'd love to push the bed to the right wall so it's more centered to the window, but then there is no walkway for that side of the bed. Any thoughts are Much appreciated.

If you could get another matching curtain panel, you could cover that portion of the wall with curtain fabric, similar to photo below. I think it would fool the eye enough for a more balanced look. For the nook storage would be best I think, depending on what you need to store. Jewelry chest or shoe cabinet comes to mind.

Curtains the same color as the wall would fool the eye.

I cant have the bed face the window with how the stairway and closets are situated. I do like the idea of extending the curtain panel for the rest of the wall, if I can find a way to use an angled curtain rod- does anyone have photos of this being done? I’d be curious if the curtains would hang nicely or just slide down the rod. I’d probably have to choose a non-geometric print since it will not hang vertically. thanks!

hi Dana, have you considered decorative drapes with an inner blackout to be drawn at night. That way you can use different height rails with the drapes flowing across over the odd angled wall. I’ve posted pictures for inspiration

@everdebz I like the idea of the tapestry, but I’m not sure what you mean by moving the bed to the slanted part. Can you explain what you mean?

Can you post pics with all 4 walls, entrances, etc. From Feng Shui perspective, it is good not to have bed w/ back to windows.

Your room looks lovely. It is what is is, a bit quirky.

I don’t think any of the suggestions will improve what you have now.

You did a good job, enjoy it!

Can’t tell the size or location of the window, but if narrow wondering if using a different window treatment like Roman blinds with blackout lining or a regular blind and fill wall with art to create a cute feature wall.

Less noticeable contrast if mirror frame were chalk painted softer... or painted or waxed...

The room angle is charming. I'd accentuate the triangular piece by hanging 3 related pieces of art in that area. I don't care for the mirror because it isn't interesting, and I don't like the way it reflects the molding on the adjacent wall. I love the example Maureen posted above. These are the little quirks that give a room life and prevent it from being cookie cutter.

Embrace your asymmetry. Change the nightstand and lamp on one side. Paint the sloped ceiling the same as the wall.

Creative to suggest 3 items.... either way, you might try a pop of color with longer lumbar.... bring the eyes to center of the bed...

I don’t see a problem. I think symmetry is over rated. I think every thing you have in the room is pretty and peaceful. Nice decorating job !

    In my very humble opinion...
I would suggest painting the Ceiling the same color as your surrounding walls, by doing this it will taKe away from all the angles and not drawing more attention to that ceiling...
I would paint that wall and get some drapes in the same color, ( you don’t want to add more to make it stand out) add two pendant lights above each night Stand, you need all the space on those night stands and the lamps are taking up valuable real estate. Like this... don’t. Mind my rough drawing...
