Hi! What type of pest is this?

We have water leaking into our bedroom from the window. There is some wood rot but we are trying to figure out if the granules are a sign of carpenter ants or termites. We are on the second floor and no sign of termites in the basement. We live in the Northeast (Pennsylvania). Anyone know? Tia.
