I would buy a Kingston push/ pop drain to match the faucet. I prefer the push pops because they are much easier to clean. Don't have to crawl under the sink and uninstall anything. To clean the ones that I have, you simply unscrew the stopper & remove to clean.

I have a California Faucets Zero Drain in both my bathrooms. It is level with the bottom of the sink when in “drain” mode and you push the stopper down to close it. Water goes down easily, but anything much larger than whiskers or hair does not go down because the stopper is there. You just get your fingers around the edge of the stopper and pull up to remove and clean it.
